Hi, I am JB Martin, the Founder of One Direction Services (ODS) and the ODS Network. I am also a Youth Motivational Speaker, husband, and father of four children.
My children range in age from 8 to 18 which affords me the luxury of seeing the range of needs our youth have today. An additional plus is that my children can mentor and teach each other about solving problems and facing life’s challenges. It’s its only little “village”, if you will.
Being a young man from a home with many challenges — poor, parents divorced, surrounded by drugs — gave me a special prespective of today’s children. It also gave me a burning desire to share my knowledge, talents and experiences with children who may be facing issues that are holding them back from reaching their full potential.
However, It’s not enough today to focus on drop-out rates, teen pregnancy, drugs, violence and all of the other issues in modern America. If the events of the last decade haven’t confirmed it for you yet — we’re in a global race to develop the next generation of talent, innovation, and leaders. It’s not enough to survive — we need to prosper, create wealth, and invest that wealth back into the communities we care about.
It’s no different in Bejieng, Paris, Boston, Moscow, and Dublin as it is in my hometown of Orange, Texas or where I live today, Austin, Texas.
